About

Community

We have an active open source community of content specialists, designers, engineers, and other technologists. Contributors support dozens of agencies and hundreds of websites across the federal government.

Join the community

The USWDS community has been working together since 2015 to make it easier to build accessible, mobile-friendly government websites.

Join us in the #uswds-public channel in Slack by filling out our form. The community is open to the public. Members include content specialists, designers, engineers, and other technologists who share ideas, challenges, lessons learned, and best practices in design and design systems.

Join the USWDS Community

If you’re having trouble, email uswds@gsa.gov with Join the USWDS Community in the subject.

Contribute to USWDS

There are several ways to contribute to USWDS. Participating in the community is one way to contribute. See our contributing guidelines for more about how to contribute back to our codebase. Also, please note that every submission we receive goes through a full design and code review.
